Who we’re looking for
The TFS Information Digital Services Department is looking for a forward-leaning, highly technical, and collaborative Solution Architecture Lead. This person will be responsible for building and leading our team of Solution Architects who help our development teams build best-of-class applications. The Solution Architecture team will be responsible for:
Work alongside development teams and Domain architecture to architect and design applications following our standards,
Maintain application artifacts like architecture & design views, decision records, and tech debts...
Coach teams on the best development practices and our standards,
Assist teams in setting up development practices and developing complex aspects
Assist teams in performing root cause analysis and improving application reliability
In addition to leading the team, that person will be responsible for building up the Solution Architecture Practice which includes:
Design processes and associated artifact templates
Implementation standards, reference architectures, and implementation patterns for common use cases
Key frameworks implementation
New technologies investigation supporting development teams proof of concepts
This role requires a strong knowledge of application development, distributed computing, cloud-native application design, database design, and systems implementation as this role is a "solution architect" crafting technical solutions to complex business needs.
Success in this role requires in-depth knowledge and hands-on technical skills, with strong leadership, development management, and communication skills. The ability to work effectively with delivery teams, various vendors, and business teams to develop solutions that meet technology standards and business needs is required. A strong financial systems background and experience with associated applications & domains is a plus.
What you’ll bring
Knowledge to drive standards around technologies and propose system solutions to meet business requirements.
Demonstrated hands-on development of microservice, event-driven architecture using Spring Boot, nodejs on the cloud
Experience with Angular/React, REST, AWS services (EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3...), Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, streaming technologies such as Kafka, Github...
Expertise in architecting and developing secure, scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant distributed applications in the cloud
Ability to integrate data and technical system changes across the entire application portfolio
Ability to foster innovation among team members and drive best practices.
Focus on automation opportunities, waste and cognitive load elimination, and solution simplification.
Expertise in refactoring common patterns in frameworks and platforms.
Act as liaison with the vendors, development teams, and business users to create and finalize end-to-end technical solutions.
Sharp technical acumen to solve issues and evolve the Microservices architecture.
Assess, design, and deliver on architecture that supports high availability and scalability.
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
Relentless desire for innovation and driving high standards, balanced with business needs and customer expectations.
Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on applications architecture and lifecycle development experience
3+ years of experience as a solution architect
5+ years of experience architecting Springboot, nodejs, or equivalent microservices-based applications in a cloud environment
5+ year of experience developing a cloud-native application (AWS and SalesForce a plus)
Mastery of REST and enterprise services implementation
Mastery of design principles, design patterns, refactoring, and automation testing
Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and
Extensive knowledge of both SQL/NoSQL database design
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and especially to senior executives.
· Demonstrated success as a Solution Architect on both large and small projects
· Demonstrated continued knowledge acquisition of emerging technologies
