Job Summary:
This position serves as a member of the Akima, LLC Legal Department working under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Paralegal for Akima, LLC. Provide paralegal support to the Akima, LLC Legal Department.
NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must be a NANA Shareholder and own stock in “NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.” You must currently be enrolled in college or technical/vocational school.
Job Responsibilities:
As a paralegal, support the Legal Department of Akima in the following areas:
Corporate Governance:
Prepares initial drafts of resolutions for semi-annual Executive Management Committee meetings.
Supports preparation of related materials for EMC governing body for multiple operating companies.
Attends joint venture management committee meetings to gain an understanding of corporate formalities required to be observed by the limited liability company operating agreement.
Supports service of process through CT Corporation.
Labor & Employment:
Prepares draft responses to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints.
Attends training provided by external law firms.
M&A Integration:
Attends weekly integration meetings if applicable.
Attends business reviews related to potential acquisitions.
Legal Research:
Conducts various legal research on GovCon matters.
Researches state-level licensing requirements.
Researches best practices related to AI technology.
Litigation:
Reviews pending litigation including assessment of potential corporate exposure via claims chart.
Reviews case filings on various active matters including bid protest decisions, complex litigation motions, etc.
Performs E-Discovery functions.
Provides support to in-house counsel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a NANA Shareholder and own stock in “NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.”
Must be currently enrolled in college or a technical/vocational school.
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience using SharePoint.

Manage deadlines and multiple tasks.
High attention to detail.
Good oral and written communication skills or willingness to develop such skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong typing and proof-reading ability.
Math skills sufficient to prepare Excel spreadsheets as directed by Legal Counsel.
Basic knowledge of accounting preferred, but not required.
