This individual interactswith imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients and visitors. Acts asa resource person for MRI technical, and other issues, and demonstratescompetence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols.Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room - equipment,supplies and medications. This individual also maintains images andarchives associated with patient data. Other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: One to three years of experience ispreferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Graduate of an JCERT approved two-yearor four-year radiologic technology, nuclear medicine program, or MRIprogram is required. Two or four year college degree in radiologictechnology, healthcare, business or other related degree ispreferred.TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Successful completion of across-sectional anatomy class is required.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrastinjection; ability to assimilate new procedures into work routine isrequired.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: ARRT registered is required. Advancedcertification through ARRT in ARRT-MR is required within 18 months ofhire. BCLS certified within 90 days of hire date. State of WI license inRadiologic Technology if incumbent performs CT, general radiography orany other imaging using ionizing radiation; if practice is limited toMRI and/or Ultrasound, no state license is required.
