Military Contracts Inquiry Analyst Job Summary:

The Military Contracts Analyst will manage the end-to-end process for a large volume of beneficiary disputes, complaints, grievances or appeals submitted to the client. The Analyst will work under the direction of the Military Contracts Inquiry Manager and the client’s department director. The Analyst will be responsible for validating appropriate legal documentation is on file to ensure Protected Identifiable Information (PII) or Protected Health Information (PHI) is accurately provided to the beneficiary, their personal representative or legal designee. The Analyst will evaluate each individual beneficiary inquiry to determine appropriate next steps for resolution to include collaboration with internal subject matter experts. The Analyst will create and send corresponding response letter which must include a summary statement of the issue being addressed, all relevant background information and actions required for resolution. The Analyst will accurately document all key performance markers utilized by the government payer to monitor the client’s performance. Work instructions and other source of truth documents are used to ensure the proper processes were followed, and accurate and complete information is provided. Primary Responsibilities:
Process and respond to all incoming inquiries timely.
Critically evaluate all aspects of a beneficiary dispute, complaint, grievance, or appeal which may involve more than one area (e.g., claims, provider network, program integrity, clinical quality etc.)
Ensure appropriate legal documentation is on file.
Correctly use all tools/resources for evaluation of beneficiaries, their personal representative or legal designee concerns.
Determine appropriate next steps to obtain resolution.
Document collaboration with internal subject matter experts.
Work independently.
Outstanding communicator in all forms.
Recognize trends and assist with possible preventative action.
Identify, communicate, and implement opportunities for improving internal processes within the Beneficiary Inquiry Department.
Other activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of related experience or BA/BS degree (and/or equivalent) in related field
2+ year of claim or appeal processing experience in the healthcare industry
3+ years communication/customer service experience in the healthcare industry
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word (creating / updating documents) and Microsoft Excel (creating / updating spreadsheets, pivot tables, and formulas)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and exceptional problem-solving skills
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities
Understanding of the unique needs of the military and Veteran community
Strong personal integrity and the ability to form effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in the inquiry process
Exceptional writing skills and knowledge of the tone for external written communication
Demonstrated ability to organize material from various sources, analyze and draw logical conclusions
Familiarity with HIPPAA requirements

Project Details: This position has not been formalized, but we estimate that the start date will be in February of 2024. The initial contract period would be for 6 months, with anticipation of a 6-month renewal. The estimated hourly reimbursement would likely start at $40/hr. This role is 100% remote.
