Job Description
The Methods Specialist in this position will have full authoring responsibility for all process instruction and route card/traveler generation and maintenance for new and existing product manufactured in the Microwave Pilot Line. The candidate will work in conjunction with other Methods Specialists who support production factories to provide in-depth instruction utilizing text and imported drawing features and photographs. The ability to work in an on-line software package such as Solumina or equivalent to create these documents is required. This position works side-by-side with the Process Engineers and Operators in each work cell to create work instructions that convey simple instructions of highly complicated assemblies to our factory workforce.
Studies routine manufacturing operations such as mechanical assembly, substrate attach, wire and ribbon bonding, etc., to determine the most efficient sequence of operations to build complex Microelectronic assemblies.
Examines assembly blueprints to plan the sequence of operations required to build product efficiently and economically.
Itemize steps to be followed in the manufacturing process and develops process instruction for each assembly operation to enable Operators to build assemblies in conjunction with the use of engineering drawings.
Uses CAD software packages to manipulate engineering drawings for clarification of procedures within processes.
Uses digital media to include labeled pictures for assembly modifications within processes.
Updated Web-based interfaces.
Creates route cards and work plans to include operation, location, and special work instructions.
Revises process sheets and visual aids to reflect latest engineering requirements, manufacturing techniques, methods, and tooling.
Observes the operation being followed by production Operators and initiates necessary changes to improve operation effectiveness and efficiency.
This position is with the Microwave Pilot Line, a dedicated team of Process Engineers, Technical Writers, and Operators working on production equivalent equipment to execute the Non-Recurring Engineering work and manufacture of first builds in preparation for production builds.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Computer familiarity with a strong background in text editing, typing, and word processing. Professional and calm approach to multitasking will be necessary as the job entails multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
High School Diploma and 2 years' work experience or equivalent experience.
Must currently possess a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Applicable experience in a Microelectronics factory is highly desired. Product knowledge of epoxy component attach, thermosonic wire and ribbon bonding and other elements of Microelectronics manufacturing technology also desired. Experience in documenting assembly instructions for a highly complex electronic line of products built for military applications. Familiarity with Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD) class zero, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention techniques. Capable of working hand-in-hand with the assembly workforce to produce a compliant, leading edge technology product.
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, CREO/ProE) highly recommended.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $54560 - $87340
