  MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

  The opportunity is at Urbana Country Club – We are a prestigious, family-owned private country club in Urbana, Illinois, searching for a hands-on Membership, Marketing Coordinator to provide, sales, marketing and communication for the Club with all membership.

  Urbana Country Club (UCC) has been a cherished part of the community since its founding in 1922. Today, its beautifully renovated interiors and elegantly landscaped grounds continue to offer a setting of unparalleled grace for private events as well as a rich array of activities for members.

  In addition to an active food and beverage program, the club is about to begin a 10 million golf course renovation project starting in May 2024 with Golf Course Architect Drew Rogers. This new golf course will offer a premium players experience with all of the best amenities in the golf industry. The club also has a 3 year old resort facility with overnight lodging, state-of-the-art fitness center, full spa and salon facilities, indoor golf simulators and an expansive pool overlooking the golf course.

  SUMMARY

  Develop and implement initiatives to promote better awareness externally and internally of Urbana Country Club, including membership sales, membership activities, membership retention, communication and analysis of demographic data.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Membership Programs

  Develop a large scale marketing plan for sharing and documenting the new golf course renovation project all season long. Create a "buzz" using a strong social media campaign launching our news to the golf world and driving new membership opportunities nationwide.

  Develop and recommend membership programs.

  Implement all membership programs such as ambassador and mentor programs.

  Periodically train staff to be excellent UCC ambassadors.

  Track all membership leads and follow up as appropriate.

  Measures various efforts and performance reports to the General Manager.

  Develop and implement new Member activities in conjunction with the Clubhouse Manager and Head Golf Professional to provide for harmonious integration of new members through social and golf activities.

  Follow up on any resignation letters.

  Perform exit interviews and recommend alternative memberships.

  Meet with Members on a proactive basis to discuss transition opportunities for other membership classes or prospective leads.

  In conjunction with the Clubhouse Manager, develop a communication plan for annual calendar of events to increase Member participation in Club events.

  Assist Golf Shop in communicating to Members various sales and events.

  Responsible for coordinating the production schedule, design and development of event flyers and announcements with the Creative Director.

  Visible liaison between Club management and membership.

  Develop Member communication programs using the Club’s website, email, and other communications platforms.

  Ensure the Club’s website remains updated with timely and relevant content to maintain and improve Member engagement.

  Recommend enhancements to website capabilities to further these goals with the creative designer.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university is preferred; or three to five years private club or strong sales experience. Previous successful experience in personal presenting and selling. Experience in networking and prospecting techniques.

Is punctual and keeps all meeting commitments by being prepared and on time.

  LANGUAGE SKILLS

  Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Superior authoring, creative and communicative skills.

  COMPUTER SKILLS

  Advanced working knowledge of various computer software programs.

  GOLF ACUMEN

  Higher than average golf knowledge and experience preferred. Candidates must understand and play golf at a minimum. Additional experience in areas of golf culture is a plus
