POSITION SUMMARY: The Member Services Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to members, nonmembers, patients/caregivers, and staff requesting information on American Academy of Neurology membership, products and services. Accurately and expeditiously process and maintain data pertaining to member records and customer product orders. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Daily Member Services Activities Professionally represent the AAN to Members and Nonmembers Field member questions related to membership, benefits, applications, products and services through phone, emails, and online chat Expediently and accurately process new membership applications and current member dues payments Provide verification of membership to various requesting parties Work with the Academy's conference and publication vendors to fulfill member requests as needed Related Projects as Assigned Complete department projects as assigned by supervisor including quality checks and process improvements This job description may not cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate of Arts/Vocational/Technical Degree in Business, Management, Communication or related field of study is required Bachelor's Degree is preferred Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience providing high level, quality customer service is required Customer Service and/or call center experience, preferably within a Professional Association is preferred Previous experience using an online membership database such as iMIS or Salesforce is preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for qualification requirements. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication and grammatical skills consistently (via email, chat, phone) while maintaining professionalism is required Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required Strong ability to handle interruptions, problem solve and think critically while handling multiple tasks is required Ability to master and operate phone and chat system is required Ability to handle confidential information is required Ability to demonstrate professionalism and service when working with internal colleagues, vendors and cross-functional teams is required Willingness to learn and master knowledge of American Academy of Neurology products, services and values is preferred Proficiency to speak in Spanish is preferred ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION: FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required - up to 5% Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as primarily remote (ability to work remotely, but required to work in the office as needed or requested; must reside within 50 miles of AAN Headquarters) Schedule: Scheduled hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CT; Occasional evening and weekend required Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with ability to sit for long periods of time, occasional use of stairs; regular use of computer and office equipment, lifting up to 10 lbs.
