Our Mission:The Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce advocates for our members and collaborates with other organizations to strengthen, sustain and grow our local culture and economy.
Summary: Assist in the successful implementation of the Chamber's annual program of work by providing high-level support, completing required tasks in the membership services, financial or communications areas. Work with various committees and volunteers to meet the Chamber's plan of action to support its business community. Ensure effective office operation and coordination of activities with investors and the public to provide quality customer service while completing the Chamber's mission. Areas of work assigned will include a variety of duties from the following areas and other duties as assigned.
Membership Duties
Develop and maintain relationships with Chamber members and prospective membersDevelop, implement, and maintain membership growth and retention planCoordinate and administer effective means of contacts with current and potential members, to include: membership drives, visits and appointments, ribbon cuttings, coffee calls, etc.Develop and maintain collateral material necessary to benefit members, encourage membership retention and recruitment, and communicate membership benefits to current and potential membersCoordinate with Executive Director and Administrative Coordinator to develop and execute a dependable process to handle memberships whose accounts are not in good standingDevelop and implement system of promotion and recognition for membersAssist with sales of non-dues revenue to include: Chamber Directory, newsletter advertisements and inserts, online promotions, etc.Marketing Duties
Collaborate with Executive Director to implement marketing plan and promotionsProvide primary staff coordination to develop, create, implement, and maintain content for website www.beatricechamber.comProvide primary staff coordination to develop, create, implement, and maintain content for traditional and social media presence for Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, collaborating with Executive Director and other staff membersAssist in development, production, and distribution of publications for Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce as appropriate. Publications may include: Chamber Directory, electronic newsletter, printed newsletter, videos, etc.Events, Committees, and Projects
Serve as lead staff in a number of committees or events that are outlined by the Board of Directors in the annual program of workSupportExecutive Director in communications with membership and Board of DirectorsAttend and participate inassigned workshops and conferencesAttend and staff special events as neededOffice Operations
Assist with greeting visitors, answering incoming calls, routing calls, directing callers to outside sources, providing information to and getting information from incoming callersCoordinate activities including scheduling meeting room spaces, notices, agendas, RSVP's and lunches as neededAssist customers with Chamber Check orders as neededAssure that the general office and lobby areas are clean and presentableBe alert to things that need to be done and, without being asked, take initiative to see that they are doneKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Possess strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral)Team player who can also work independentlyAbility to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, (and/or Google Docs) and Outlookbility to analyze to prepare documents, reports, and correspondenceAbility to process and handle confidential information with discretionHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in related field preferredPerformance Evaluation:The performance evaluation by the Chamber's Executive Director with input gathered from the Chamber Board of Directors.
