Job Description Summary
The Meetings & Events Programs Manager is responsible for developing and executing a strategic meetings management program for GE Aerospace, leading strategic sourcing activities for meetings & events spend, and partnering with GE Aerospace's event planners to deliver internal and external events. Areas of responsibility include supplier management for venue sourcing and meeting planning suppliers, developing and monitoring key metrics for meetings & events spend, supporting the GE Aerospace event planning team, contract management, and evaluating strategy or tools to improve event management, small meetings and payment processes.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic meetings management program for GE Aerospace.Collaborate with business leadership, investor relations, marketing events, HR, or other business partners to deliver events focused on their business outcomes.Collaborate with Compliance to align offerings in accordance with the GE Aerospace travel or meetings policies and comply with external regulations.Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to execute global trade shows, conferences, meetings, and events, including:Venue sourcing: Determine and contract with suitable locations and venues for GE Aerospace leaders to meet with customers and other stakeholders to build strong relationships, foster learning and development or other objectives that result in a successful event.Meeting planning: Support event project plans to meet stakeholder needs including sourcing content, speakers on-site resourcing, and team building opportunities.Partner with IT on meeting technology tools (such as Cvent) and registration processes.Collaborate with Security on attendee safety and GE Aerospace duty of care responsibilities for meetings and events.Partner with the Travel & Expense and/or Buy to Pay teams on meeting and event payment processes.Monitor trends in the meetings & events industry and recommend innovation opportunities from adopting new tools or suppliers and influence changes in policy when needed to ensure employees are safe, programs meet current business requirements, and costs are managed effectively.Collaborate with GE's strategic meetings & events suppliers, including CWT, Cvent and other travel-process suppliers.Collaborate with the Travel & Fleet team on process governance and Monthly Operating Review (MOR) performance metrics, including delivery and quality metrics for the process and KPIs for strategic supplier performance
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent professional development certification from business travel or meetings and events professional organization.Minimum 8 years of demonstrated meetings & event, sourcing, supplier management, cross-functional project management or operational experienceAbility to travel to meet business needs (up to 20%)Fluent in English (another language is a plus)
