About the job:
The Medication Technician is responsible for daily operations of the SeniorCommunity Care Medication Department.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $18.00-$21.83
Pharmacy Tech: $23.00

High school diploma or equivalentCertified Pharmacy Technician preferred.-Must be a QMAP/CNAAt least 1 years' experience working with the elderlyExperience working directly with medicationsWill consider other qualifications based on experience
Essentials:
Responsible for processing of all medication orders for all participantsthrough direct input (75%) or processing of medication orders inputtedby staff provider (25%) with respect to providing full, complete,and legal prescriptions to dispensing pharmacy as defined by pharmacy protocoland state/federal regulationCycle-System: Responsible for coordination with pharmacy and relevant SeniorCommunity Care departments to maintain participant medication schedules(maintenance of cycle system) through implementation of new medicationorders, mid-cycle medication changes, discontinuations, andreconciliations through transition process as prescribed by policy.Enrollment/Disenrollment: Responsible for entering all medication ordersfor new enrollments, setting up pharmacy cycle, delivery system,assistive systems if needed, linking diagnosis information to medications(through H&P), and verifying all information in writing withparticipant's primary care provider. Also responsible for coordinatingmedications for dis-enrolling participants to provide needed medications for aperiod of twenty-eight (28) days after leaving program.Alternative Medication Delivery Systems: Responsible for filling alternativemedication delivery systems (MRB, Med-E-Lert, etc.) in accordance withmedication orders and organizational policies/procedures.Senior Community Care Coumadin Clinic: Responsible for in-house monitoringof participant INR values, dose adjustment, and dispensing of Coumadin forparticipants, under the direction and supervision of Medication Manager.Mid-Cycle Medication Changes: Responsible for making medication changes tocurrently filled delivery systems in accordance with medication orders andorganizational policies/ procedures.
