Description We are in search of a Medical Scheduler to join our team in the healthcare industry, based in Palm Springs, California. This role involves coordinating and scheduling appointments in our healthcare facility, and ensuring effective communication between patients and medical staff. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively manage and schedule patient appointments using our electronic health record system.
• Communicate with patients through phone, email, or in person to arrange or adjust appointments.
• Handle patient inquiries about services, costs, policies, and schedules, ensuring a high level of patient service.
• Keep patients’ insurance details updated and work with the billing department to resolve any insurance claims when needed.
• Actively manage waiting lists and handle emergency and last-minute appointments effectively.
• Provide patients with accurate and timely information regarding their appointments.
• Assist in managing patient records, ensuring the confidentiality and security of the information.
• Collaborate with doctors and other medical staff to coordinate schedules effectively.
• Maintain an updated knowledge of each doctor’s scheduling guidelines, patient needs, and clinic procedures.
• Answer inbound calls, helping to resolve customer inquiries and assist patients as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare or NHS sector.
• Proficiency in using EHR (Electronic Health Records) System.
• Experience with answering inbound calls in a professional manner.
• Ability to assist patients with scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
• Strong customer service skills, preferably within a call center environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must adhere to patient confidentiality and data protection regulations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
