Description:

　　PAMF Ambulatory SAN CARLOS SURGERY CENTER

　　Provides clerical support by answering telephones, scheduling and registering patients.

　　Verifies insurance coverage, obtains patient demographics, ensures necessary authorizations are obtained prior to patient visits, and may troubleshoot billing problems.

　　Contacts other departments to assure coordination of appointments and information needed.

　　Enters information into the computer system, including patient information and insurance.

　　May forward insurance information to the appropriate department.

　　May act as receptionist for department, answering phones, greeting visitors and responding to questions.

　　May assemble chart and request and organize incoming records.

　　May obtain or deliver medical items such as film, test results, prior files.

　　May provide administrative assistance such as typing, copying, filing, opening and distributing mail, scheduling for department staff

　　May work with billing staff to resolve problems and maximize reimbursement.

　　Arranges payment plans with patients when necessary following proper procedures.

　　May assist billing staff in reimbursement follow-up issues.
