Description: We are looking for a patient-focused and team-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) who is curious and passionate about human health. A detail and safety driven MLT is a vital part of the laboratory team. The ideal candidate is adaptable in a fast paced environment and is capable of autonomy and initiative within the scope of the MLT. They are accountable and reliable while still being able to ask for help when help is needed and to offer help to others. As a part of a team-oriented laboratory crew who prioritize coworkers as well as patients, the MLT will assume the best in others and collaboratively problem solve as a valued member of the team. Qualifications: Must hold associate degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science Must provide diploma with highest degree obtained Able to earn American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification within one year of hire Special Skills: Demonstrates strong communication skills when working directly with providers, leadership, coworkers, and assistants regarding patient or testing concerns Effectively uses a computer and performs clerical tasks such as answering the phone, taking and communicating messages, sending and receiving faxes, and obtaining valid orders Works as a part of a team to improve processes Demonstrates strong observational and reporting skills with keen attention to detail Specific Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with scientists, other medical laboratory technicians, assistants, and phlebotomists to ensure uninterrupted and accurate laboratory services while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-stocked work area Maintain generalist skills in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, and blood banking Performs quality control, calibration, and method verification as needed while operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide variety of lab instrumentation and analyzers Responsible for complete, accurate, and timely reporting of laboratory findings and for verifying positive patient and specimen identification Utilizes AIDET model of customer service to calmly and pleasantly interact with patients and families Performs other duties based on role as needs arise Benefits Flexible schedule Competitive wages Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life insurance options HSA option 401k with employer matching Paid Time Off Why Cuyuna Regional Medical Center?
