　　What will you be doing in this role?

　　The Medical Laboratory Assistant functions with the general supervision of senior technical/clinical personnel. Responsibilities may include receiving, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens or blood from voluntary blood donors and communicating information about tests and test results. Performs all job duties with sensitivity and attention to the developmental issues of the patient populations(s) being served.

　　Qualifications

　　Educational Requirements:

　　High school diploma or its equivalent.Licenses & Certifications:

　　Phlebotomy Certificate that meets the mandates of the laws and regulations of the State of California.Experience Requirements:

　　One year of clinical laboratory experience, including familiarity with laboratory information systems, preferred.

　　Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, patients, physicians, and other customers of the Medical Center.

　　Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.

　　Physical Demands:

　　Frequent sitting and standing; occasional walking and bending; occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds for distances to 10 feet.

　　Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, mechanical failure alarms.

　　Visual acuity acceptable for performing duties of this position.

　　Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
