Job Description
The Architecture and Governance team is responsible for leading data management, workflow process architecture, developing Starcom data governance products, and consulting on key data enablement projects for clients. The Director, Architecture and Governance is an experienced role that will consult with our clients on their custom data projects. In this role, you’ll create and deliver solutions for our clients with your expertise in data structure, designing requirements, and using Starcom’s data governance tools.
The Director will collaborate with experts across the industry and help build proprietary applications and tools. You will have had hands on experience exploring and manipulating data, build and refine business processes, and communicating the project vision and progress to executives and peers. Ideal candidates will have a blend of technical skills and strong business experience. They will have a passion for understanding the importance and application of quality data, experience with media technology (Ad Servers, DMPs, DSPs, Social Platforms), and a relentless curiosity. This role will be communicating in all formats with all levels of the organization so strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills are essential.
Role Objectives:
Consult with clients and internal stakeholders on mission critical data-related projects (dashboard enablement, process automation, data transfer, data governance)
Design business processes to deliver timely, accurate, and reliable data base on project needs and objectives
Define project timing and objectives, aligning stakeholder agenda’s and needs
Produce and maintain documentation and educational materials in support of advancing data quality
Define and advance team expertise across core service pillars:
Data Strategy & Architecture
Data Visualization
Info Governance
Mentor and train junior team members on best practices and strategic approaches
Contribute to new product strategy and organic growth opportunities for Starcom products and services
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in, information systems management, statistics, economics, data science, business degrees or related area
7-12 years of applicable experience
Demonstrated interest in structuring and solving business problems, systems development, and business process engineering
Ability to communicate complex concepts to a nontechnical audience
Ability to translate business needs and requirements to a technical audience
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving, and multi-tasking abilities
3+ years experience working with data within relational databases
2+ years experience working with a data visualization software (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
