Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Mechanical Repair Technician IV for our Monroe, NC MRO/Aftermarket facility, one of the most rapidly growing facilities across the company. Under minimal to no supervision, the incumbent relies on experience, knowledge & judgment to accomplish various goals & objectives. Use standard & multifaceted procedures to perform increasingly complex tasks through demonstrated use of specialty skills & techniques for testing, in depth troubleshooting, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, detailed inspection, final prep through repair, overhaul & modification operations on a significant number of components & accessories using company approved technical data. ACE Associates required.
This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.
This position is not eligible for relocation
1st Shift: Mon. - Fri. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM EDT
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as required to achieve team goals.
Be responsible for maturing, sustaining & coordinating all training efforts for cell teammates on a significant number of product lines or processes under the direction of the supervisor.
Serve as a resource to provide answers & solutions to most technical support questions for production staff, Business Unit Leaders, customers & auditors.
Comply with and demonstrate adherence to all Collins policies, procedures, regulations, & any required training involving EH&S, Ethics, Continuous Improvement (ACE) and Quality.
Serve as back-up to Lead Technician as needed
Work with the supervisor to identify &/or lead ACE, Quality & EH&S initiatives as directed by the supervisor to drive organizational efficiency & effectiveness.
Perform other duties as required to achieve team goals & objectives
Must have advanced troubleshooting knowledge & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment
Assist with test, troubleshoot & validate LRU performance in accordance with
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
HS diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant aircraft experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
4 or more years of mechanical aircraft repair or manufacturing and assembly experience.
Current or previous experience with blueprint reading and utilizing repair manuals.
Current or previous experience with troubleshooting and testing mechanical devices.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA Repairman Certificate or an A&P License preferred
Must be computer literate; able utilize computer system to input and retrieve information (i.e. SAP, Fortis, Smart-solve, Outlook, Microsoft suite & other pertinent systems)
Ability work & train employees on a significant number of products & processes within the cell.
Proven track record of delivering timely results in ethical and safe manner
have strong analytical skills to identify root causes of problems & provide possible solutions to correct the problem.
Internal and External customer focused to provide a safe and quality product
Ability to troubleshoot & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment
Actively participate in CORE/ACE continuous improvement, environmental, health & safety
