Job SummaryAmentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to be based in our Richland, WA location. Short and long term travel assignments are possible. The Engineer is responsible for perform a variety of engineering assignments inlcuding design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse process equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, construction, operations or review team on more complex assignments or as a lead on less complex assignments.Essential Responsibilities:1. Perform a range of design development, construction/installation, operation, or review tasks independently providing supervision of contributing engineers.2. Responsible for designs, , construction/installation, operation, or design reviews independently or as a team member.3. Generate complete design specifications.4. Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.5. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.6. Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.7. Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications..8. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.9. Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.10. Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.Minimum RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in an engineering or operation setting. Experience with process systems in operations, field or design work.Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.Preferred QualificationsExperience with DOEExperience in construction, testing, and project turnoverEIT License PreferredCandidate should be able to obtain a DOE Q clearanceAmentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
