We are currently seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team in our Suffern, NY office!
The Mechanical Engineer will work collectively with our other Engineers and Architects as part of a project team to provide HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs, studies and technical support as required to fulfill project requirements.
A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications and reports for Building and Renovation projects.
Responsibilities
Experience with NY building code, load calculations, design, redlines, project management
System selection and calculations for design purposes
Conduct field work to document existing conditions
Desire to understand and learn how to design MEP/FP systems within various buildings
Work independently and as part of a team to complete project designs
Design of code compliant Plumbing and Fire Protection systems
Calculations for water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads
Assist with project management
Site visits may be required
Qualifications
4-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
AutoCAD experience , REVIT is a plus
Field experience is a plus
Schedule:
Full time in office to start, potential for hybrid work schedule
In office designing, after time may go on site visits
