JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARY: The Mechanical Design Engineer willwork closely with others in our engineering group as well as machinists,assemblers and programmers to produce world-class manufacturingequipment. This position designs and details complex, precisioncomponents and assemblies and prepares bills of material for productionutilizing the most up-to-date 3D software. The working environment isfast paced and professional with the resources necessary to besuccessful! ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: When given a design problem the candidate should be able togenerate cost effective and simple to manufacture concepts to solve it.Starting with mechanical assemblies or concepts, turn them intoengineered, fully detailed, functioning designs that satisfy all designconstraints given. Select power transmission, motion control and otherpurchased components Prepare detailed mechanical drawings and bills ofmaterial for production Understand detailing of precision componentsincluding dimensional tolerances, geometric tolerances, and generaldrafting practices. Position requires candidate to be highly detailoriented and able to effectively manage their time to complete projectsin a timely manner. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years of experience inmechanical design with preference given to machine design relatedexperience. BSME preferred. An associate\'s degree and relevant workexperience will be considered. SolidWorks experience preferred but weare willing to train the right candidate that has modeling experience inanother 3D CAD package. Interest in manufacturing and generalunderstanding of machine shop practices, strong mechanical aptitude.Experience in power transmission design, hydraulics, automation, machinetool fixture design, bearing selection, ballscrew selection, and toolingdesign will be given priority over other design experience.
