Lead Mechanical Engineer

Salary: $85,000 -$120,000 (depending on experience)
Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer role located in Beaumont, TX - for a company dedicated to the production of power delivery solutions for the global energy industry. You will provide technical and process expertise in standardization of the creation of assembly and fabrication drawing packages, mechanical bill of materials. Drive the transition of the product lines from 2D ACAD design to integrated 3D design using Inventor.
The Ideal candidate will have: Relevant experience with UL891 switchboards and UL1558 switchgear mechanical design
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the team is delivering accurate mechanical packages for customer approval.
Lead the creation of assembly and fabrication drawings per industry standards, specifications, and customer approved packages.
Oversee and manage the release of approved drawings to production.
Provide technical support to the production team during assembly/fabrication process as needed.
Assist the team with the creation of mechanical bill of materials and ensure data is entered in manufacturing database timely and accurately.
Ensure project meets requirements of field measurements and/or existing equipment.
Maintain clean and safe work area.
All duties assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management.
Responsible for understanding and executing Company goals and objectives while actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
EDUCATION
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with UL891 switchboards, UL1558 switchgear mechanical design.
Non-degreed engineers must have equivalent combination of education, training, and verifiable experience.
EXPERIENCE
Extensive LV switchgear/switchboard (240V to 600V) Design.
MV switchgear (5KV to 38KV) Design, Metal clad and Arc Resistant a plus.
Non-segregated Bus Ducts systems Design.
Electrical Enclosures Design.
Relay Racks/cabinets Design.
Sheet metal flat and bus bar flat layout design.
Extensive skills in 2D AutoCAD, 3D AutoCAD and Inventor.
Management of Project from Start to Finish.
Leading and managing experience preferred.
Structural/seismic calculation reports coordination.
Load Interrupting Switchgear design.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and must have verifiable work experience with Industry standards such as: IEEE, ANSI, UL, ASTM, IBC, CA Title 24, NEMA, MIL-STD, NEC, EUSERC, Utility Service Standards (ESR) and any other standards related to the design and manufacturing of switchgear systems.All applicants applying for this job opening must be legally authorized to work in the United States and are required to have US residency at the time of application.
