Title: Material Handler - 1st Shift

　　Olsten is assisting a local client recruiting for a current Material Handler job in Lumberton, NC. This is a long-term temporary opportunity. Material Handlers will load, unload and move materials at plant and yard. Receive, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. 　　Responsibilities for this Material Handler job include:

　　Reads work orders and schedules, receives and listens to oral instructions to determine work assignment.

　　Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using crane, hoist, or forklift when necessary.

　　Loads and unloads materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks and shelves or vehicles, such as trucks. This may include raw bowls, finished sinks, steel coils, pallets, corrugate, components and picking orders.

　　Load or unload items for vendors only as directed by leadership.

　　Transports receptacles to and from designated areas, by hand or using dollies, hand trucks, hand jacks, and/or forklifts.

　　Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

　　Records number of units handled and moved, manually using daily move sheet and electronically using handheld scanner.

　　Bundles and bands material, such as boxes, scrap cardboard, sinks, and raw steel material, using banding machines, chains, and/or stretch wrap.

　　Stacks or piles materials including scrap cardboard, pallets.

　　Cleans work area using brooms, rags, and cleaning compounds.

　　Sorts and stores items according to specifications.

　　Delivers and removes products, supplies, and equipment to designated area using forklift truck.

　　Locates and selects material, supplies, tools, equipment, or other articles from stock or issues stock item to workers. (Manually or computer)

　　Records nature, quantity, value, or location of material, supplies, or equipment received, shipped, used or issued to workers as needed in shift leaders absence.

　　Assist other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard teammates.

　　Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

　　High school diploma or GED preferred.

　　1-3 years' experience operating a Stand up Reach Forklift

　　1-3 years' experience operating a Sit down Forklift

　　Ability to work with heights.

　　Able to lift 50 lbs.

　　Able to stand for 9 hours per day.

　　Ability to use a scan gun or gladiator.

　　Able to work independently with minimum supervision

　　Ability to read English.

　　Organized

　　Understand and commit to meeting all deadlines and requirements We have openings on 1st shift (Monday - Friday from 7:00AM - 3:30 PM) Some overtime and weekend work may be required.Pay for this position is $15.00/hr. plus overtime as needed. 　　Pay Details: $15.00 per hour
