Central Research Laboratories (CRL), the Remote Handling business within DESTACO is a key P&L serving the Life Sciences (pharmaceutical, radio-pharmaceutical and bio-containment) and Nuclear market segments. Our products are recognized in the marketplace under the CRL brand. Position Summary: The Master Scheduler is responsible for facilitating the on-time scheduling of finished products to the customer to achieve plant goals related to safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery in a low-volume, high mix plant. The Master Scheduler will coordinate scheduling to ensure efficient workflow from basic to complex production areas (process, part, product line, volume of schedule). S/he is responsible for managing scheduling to ensure on-time delivery with minimal expedition, monitoring and reporting on key metrics and leading continuous improvement efforts in the plant. The Master Scheduler reports to the Materials Manager and is located in Red Wing. This position requires some travel (up to 10%). The position requires the ability to work and to communicate globally and across regions with those in all levels of the organization and with customers and suppliers. Key Job Responsibilitiesincluded but not limited to: Fosters a culture of transparency, disciplined problem-solving, high-performance work teams, and continuous improvement. Strives to ensure the appropriate team, tools, and processes are in place to support these desired cultural traits Leads and promotes safety awareness with other key members of the team. Promotes accident prevention and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment. Ensures employees have an understanding of the safety expectations of the organization Leads and fosters the continuous improvement roadmap for the scheduling process. Leverages continuous improvement tools to drive continued operational improvements and ensures engagement of the entire team through strong communication and clear direction. Works closely with Distribution, Customer Service and Shipping to review customer orders to ensure material flow and production schedule meet on time delivery. Coordinates production schedule, plans and communicates with assigned manufacturing areas to ensure efficient workflow and on time delivery to customers while optimizing capacity. Assists with materials layout to ensure optimum efficiency for production. Monitors shortages, backlog, and inventory levels for assigned manufacturing areas to maximize on time delivery performance and minimize inventory investment. Reviews forecast, investigates, and makes appropriate inventory adjustments for unscheduled cycle counts, negative inventory report, and zero shippers. Makes recommenda ions on inventory levels as demands change and communicates lead times. Ensures that daily cycle counts are performed, investigated, and adjusted. Makes recommendations for line rates and overtime. Enters production and sub inventory transfer of material in a timely manner to ensure prompt shipment and availability of products. Works closely with operations team to define optimal material flow. Leads Plan for Every Part (PFEP) for the facility. Maintains and reports on key metrics, providing accurate and timely information for decision making to meet on time delivery, quality and other key plant metrics. Manages the scheduling process to achieve annual goals/objectives set at the individual and organizational level. Knows and understands all aspects of the global market, including: economics (regulatory issues, corporate compliance, etc.), products and services, channels, the customers and their end-markets. Job Requirements: Experience: 3-5+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of continuous improvement (CI) practices, including Just-In-Time (JIT), Kanban, and other CI and lean practices required. Experience analyzing data and implementing plans to increase inventory turns Experience with ERP system required (Oracle preferred) Strong communication skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Analytical, ability to review and interpret data and make recommendations and decisions High attention to detail Excellent project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Self-directed and able to re-calibrate priorities as needed Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships especially with customers and suppliers Ability to problem solve and lead others in problem-solving activities High integrity and ethics, ensures confidentiality of all pricing strategies for the organization Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing Education and Certification Qualifications: Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
