About Master Production Scheduler

  Description: Provides input to management; schedules and/or interfaces with program, production and engineering managers. Supports production forecast commitments, schedule changes and short range recovery planning. Uses leveling techniques and planning factors to optimize business performance. Oversees the master schedules, long range planning and ensures comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing.

  • Develops a master production schedule (MPS) for assigned work centers.

  • Engages cross-functionally with Manufacturing Program Managers, Shop Management, Production Controllers and more to ensure accuracy of the manufacturing schedules.

  • Runs MRP (Material Requirements Planning) simulations for firm and anticipated requirements.

  • Supports demand release process for “make” assembly requirements and firm plans in COS (Common Operating System SAP). Works closely with Manufacturing Program Managers during release and throughout the program as schedule changes are needed.

  • Supports Manufacturing Program Managers with various scheduling analyses and is integrated into program execution teams.

  • Runs material and manufacturing lead time analysis, checks for procurement short cycling, or other key constraints and works issues with Manufacturing Program Managers and Program Office.

  • Supports the Long Range Plan of operations staffing for the Owego Operations site. Facilitates and maintains the sites program forecast and ensures staffing forecasts stay up to date with latest assumptions.

  • Supports planning related audits and completes MMAS reporting as needed.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Takes an active role in continuously improving planning methods, processes and tools.

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 4 plus years of experience or equivalent experience

  • Understanding of SAP MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system

  • Experience in production scheduling, supply chain management, manufacturing, finance, or project management

  • Analytical skills

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Effective communication

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment / self-starter

  Desired Skills:

  • PowerPoint presentation skills

  • Tableau experience

  • APICS certified

  • Lean Six Sigma certified

  • Capacity planning

  Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

  Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

  Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

  Pay Rate:

  The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $67,200 - $128,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

  Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

  (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

  This position is incentive plan eligible.

  Pay Rate:

  The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,300 - $145,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
