  Essential Roles and Responsibilities -

  • Ensure compliance and adherence to QMS and Internal audit system to meet AS9100, ISO9001 & UTAS Procedures

  • Lead and direct support activities such as methods and procedures, planning and revision, gage planning and review, quality and reliability engineering, review and disposition of material variances

  • Provide direction for inspection and quality control of manufactured parts and materials including all dimensional, special and vendor quality control, metallurgical/chemical analysis and laboratory control

  • Manage quality inspection technicians and quality engineers/supervisors to coordinate inspection, PMRB, purge and non-conformance management activities as required. Ensure that all products conform to specifications and meet the customers' needs and expectations.

  • Coordinate quality problems with QA and Producibility Group and initiate action plans to resolve problems

  • Oversee the performance & reporting of daily, weekly and monthly review of all quality KPI's.

  • Work with other operating departments to resolve problems relative to product design, specifications, materials, tooling and production operations affecting quality

  • Work closely with all functional departments to meet short term customer requirements while implementing business strategies in support of long term demands

  • Develop, deploy, enhance, drive and implement plant-wide quality improvement projects through in-depth analysis of defect trends, manufacturing yields and KPC, to ensure delighted customers and to build customer and employee confidence in the performance of our products

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the use of ACE tools to implement change that sustains ACE performance and supports the Standard Factory Lean Transformation plan

  • Overall accountability for CAB, MRB, OMRB, Clinic activities and process robustness

  • Lead the implementation of new inspection technologies that achieve process, reliability and productivity improvements

  • Maintain regular communications with direct reports and ensure a high level of support and engagement within the team.

  • Delegate and assign responsibilities in any of the areas such as ACE, quality assurance engineering and planning, parts inspection, defect analysis, statistical process control, etc

  • Foster and maintain a cooperative and productive working partnership and relationship with internal and external customers and overseas sitesDesired Characteristics / Knowledge -

  • Degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Production Engineering.

  • At least 12+ years' experience in a Mechanical assemblies / Manufacturing environment with at least 3 years leading a team of Quality

  • Sound knowledge in the concept of Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance initiatives

  • Effective communication interpersonal skills

  • Good analytical technical problem-solving skills

  • AS9100D Aviation QMS Auditor & EtQ

  • APQP / PPAP / MPR / MFP / ZDP / CORE

  • Understanding of various manufacturing, special processes and Digitalization tools

  • Knowledge of RRCA, analytics

  • FAI as per AS9102, Net inspect

  Statistical analysis / Six Sigma is desirableStakeholder Management -

  • All VS Quality managers and leads

  • Global SBU, VS supplier quality manager

  • Operations, SCM, ME, logistics, industrialization etc

  • External regulatory bodies and customersKey Result Areas -• COPQ, Customer PPM, SRR
