The Finance General team manages the planning and direction of finance process and activities. Activities include the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs.
This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Finance Manager opening in Greenville, Ohio. Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Manager is a key leadership position that directs and is responsible for the day-to-day Finance operations. This position ensures that all daily activities within the Finance Department are customer-focused and performed in a manner consistent with the achievement of the plant and finance vision, goals, and objectives.
This position is a key decision-maker and escalation point for issues or decisions within your finance scope. You will collaborate with other support functions (Operations, Materials, Human Resources, etc) to ensure they have and understand their required financial metrics to ensure delivery of plant commitments.
Your responsibilities will include
Manage monthly financial close and outlook process, including timely and accurate completion of all activities, identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline processes and/or improve predictability and preparing material for actual vs budget reviews
Manage annual planning activities, ensuring annual standard costs are complete and accurate at the part / SKU level
Responsible for ensuring adequate documentation is maintained for SOX controls and supporting control owners to ensure controls are designed and operating effectively
Identify and execute opportunities to streamline processes and improve predictability
Team member for World Class Manufacturing activities, including identification of losses within the plant and managing the process to identify and track projects to drive productivity improvements, while championing lean through daily coaching
Drive cost savings by identifying gaps through resource allocation decisions and analysis, capital requisition and cost management
Consistently ensures that area job responsibilities are timely and accurately carried out, nurturing a high level of inclusion, teamwork and performance
Ensure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards and methods
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years experience in finance or accounting
Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information
Strong understanding of Lean principles, tools, and methodologies. Proven track record in driving continuous improvement via lean tools (World Class Manufacturing experience)
Proven ability to grow individual and organizational competency through proactive coaching and mentoring
Strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution and team-building skills
Value diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
Strong technology skills, particularly with the Google suite of applications and SAP
