Determines best practicemethods and sequences of manufacturing operations. Ensures products and processes meet customer quality requirements by providing inputand manufacturing plans for product design or modification. Supports the Win Strategy environment.Essential FunctionsEvaluates and develops innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification andimplementation of advanced manufacturing processes including conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design,fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers. Prepares written and graphical work instructions to communicatemanufacturing requirements and the required tooling to production personnel.Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. Design and prepare concept drawings and implement new equipment,prototypes or modifications to existing equipment. Manage the overall implementations of capital equipment projects.Investigates and prepares manufacturing methods for new products and prototypes in a timely manner. Prepares and carries out tool redesignand alterations, change in material specification, dimensions, methods, routing, etc. Standardize manufacturing methods.Evaluates, recommends and implements changes to current manufacturing processes by analyzing production, labor standards, and materialcost, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. Implement new methods for higher productivity.Analyses and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximumefficiency. Assure process control and reliability for broad areas of manufacturing that may include supplier base as appropriate. Improvesmanufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and establishing and implementing"design for manufacture and assembly" plansRefines and enhances products and process by applying continuous improvements and key lean manufacturing/production principles andtechniques to critical or high-impact areas of production. May lead special projects for a variety of products and processes.Frequent formal and informal customer interface to present program status, including analysis of product failure, probable cause, and correctiveaction plans.Assure product and process quality by design testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards toconfirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. Determines root cause of failures using statistical methods (e.g. design ofexperiment, statistical process control) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.Directs and/or performs in the following areas: Supplier management, supplier audits, product disposition, corrective action, and internal audits.Manages internal corrective and preventive action through returns from customers. Writes quality procedures to insure customer requirementsare maintained. Reviews all contracts for compliance to customer quality requirement. Update Parker procedures as required.QualificationsKnowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization and with suppliers.Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering or Technology field and 7-10 years of related experience required.Parker
