  Job Description

  Summary

  The Albemarle Specialties GBU produces a wide variety of products in our manufacturing plants around the globe. Maintaining a high level of production with ever growing demand requires the maximization of our production assets and our processes. While Albemarle has embraced the continuous improvement mindset and the application of manufacturing best practices to improve, there is also additional opportunity for value and efficiency gains by leveraging more modern technologies and the extensive amounts of data we can access to further drive optimization. Utilization of these new platforms and analysis of the data will lead to better alignment, improved communication, more effective decision making, greater responsiveness, and additional strategic insight. For this role, we are looking for an individual to lead our newly established Data Analytics efforts within Specialties Manufacturing, including leadership on multiple strategic platforms to drive our teams towards a more efficient mode of operating as we continue to grow our business.

  Job Responsibilities

  Serve as the GBU leader for the strategic vision for manufacturing data reporting and analytics and how it can drive value-based efficiencies and improvements at our sites globally

  Create high level dashboards with advanced reporting tools to assist with program evaluation and strategic planning for GBU level leadership

  Global responsibility to develop tactical applications and tools for use at the production sites across NA, EMEA, and APAC regions, with the goal of enabling efficient visual management and increased capability for effective issue resolution

  Partner with Corporate IT to establish access to new and useful data sources and work towards building reliable live connections for streamlined analytics

  Work closely with the Manufacturing Excellence Management System (MEMS) team to develop global solutions for program reporting and to build a sustainable MEMS process for the future

  Become the GBU lead facilitator of the strategic alignment and progress tracking platform (OKRs), including guidance for all GBU department leadership

  Monitor industry trends and evaluate potential new technologies and applications that may accelerate the digitization journey for Specialties manufacturing

  Collaborate on data-driven projects across multiple functional groups, process owners, and stakeholders

  Qualifications

  B.S. degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or other similar scientific discipline

  Minimum 6 years of industry experience with the majority in a chemical manufacturing or manufacturing-adjacent role

  Strong aptitude for data analysis, computer applications, and code/formula writing

  Ability to lead projects effectively, on schedule, and to formulate plans to solve challenges where path forward is undefined or ambiguous

  Excellent in both written and oral communication; fluent in English

  Ability to travel globally up to 10% of the time

  Top candidate attributes

  Detailed knowledge and experience within manufacturing operations, with an understanding of key processes, stakeholders, and responsibilities (Operations/Maintenance/etc).

  Strong understanding of data structures, custom queries, connection methods

  Proficient at PowerBI data queries and report building (including M/DAX experience) or similar applications

  Effective collaborator across multiple groups (site manufacturing, corporate MFG Excellence, SAP process owners, IT, data scientists, reporting & analytics group) and across multiple regions globally (NA, EMEA, APAC)

  Function as a capable program manager, being able to organize, manage, and contribute to many ongoing projects in parallel

  Ability to use strategic perspective to lead and facilitate platform-based initiatives
