| Job Description: | Project Description: Support of Capital Projects in the Systems Business Unit Description ofWork: Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements. Research, outline, write and edit technical documentation, such as bid documents, contracts specifications, and procedures. Train users on how to use technical documentation and terminology. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities. Prepare, review, and revise project specific technical documents. Prepare, review, and revise master templates using current PRDCs and detailed specifications. Coordinate with internal Contracts and Legal teams to ensure revisions provide sufficient technical content and of acceptable format and style. Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users. Develop and implement a process for managing changes to technical documentation. Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference. |
| Education Requirement: | Qualifications Requirement: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field including any of following: electrical engineering, engineering technology, computer engineering, computer technology, communication engineering, system engineering or related field with a focus on English, writing, or communications. | Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: | Experience Requirements: 5+ years of hands experience including developing specifications and drawings, installing, configuring, testing and commissioning equipment for one or more of the following types of communications systems: o UPS and power plant system, fiber and copper cable system, IP and analog telephone and intercom system, emergency alarm system, public address and customer information screen system, access control system, CCTV system, fire detection and alarm system, analog and digital wireless communications system, wired IP and carrier grade (such as SONET, ATM, COE, MPLS-TP) communications system, virtualization system. Desired Skills/Training Requirements: Experience working with government agencies. Hands-on technical experience in communication and systems engineering type projects preferred. See above for list of types of communications systems. Ability to analyze and synthesize complex content. Knowledge of capital construction contracts and procedures. Experienced in writing project requirements and design criteria (PRDCs) for design-build projects. Experienced in writing detailed specifications for design-bid-build projects. Experienced in developing master templates for PRDCs and specifications that may be easily re-used. Strong technical aptitude, ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools. Ability to write clearly and succinctly for multiple audiences using either formal or more casual tones. Ability to describe complex communications systems understandable to audience with rudimentary knowledge of the communications systems. Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and multi-task. Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes. Track record of effective collaboration. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and proofreading skills is a must. Strong analytic problem solving and interpersonal skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications including SharePoint, Word, Excel & PowerPoint. |
