  The Role

  We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our Development organisation. In this position, you will play a key role in the overall success by planning, managing, and monitoring engineering functions. You will be responsible for overseeing various engineering projects, processes, and timelines and making any necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion.

  Your day to day

  Serve as the engineering leader and own end to end technical solutions

  Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members

  Hand-on coding when required and train team members on how to code better

  Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by

  Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff

  Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs

  Hire, train, and supervise engineering staff members

  Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new technologies and improved processes

  Ability to balance technology debts with developing new features

  Work collaboratively with the development team to set priorities and iteratively deliver through an agile methodology

  Perform other duties as assigned

  What you bring to the team

  Extensive hands-on development experience with JAVA or C#

  Proven experience managing a software development team

  Solid debugging and problem-solving skills; experience with multithreaded applications or REST APIs a plus

  Hands-on experience with CI/CD preferred

  Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team

  Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track

  Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment

  Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience

  Effective communication with internal teams as well as external customers

  Continuous learner, who learns new technologies and techniques independently
