ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

The employee may be asked to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically stated in this description.The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values, and operating principles of the Buffalo City Mission.
Represent the organization to all clients, volunteers, and co-workers in a friendly, Christ-like manner that serves as an example of Christian behavior.
Enforce all safety and security policies and procedures
Monitor camera activities to ensure security and safety expectations are being met; adjusting, as needed.
Review all Incident Reports and provide monthly review reports to the Director of Operations.
Consult the Director of Operations for situations not covered in the Crisis Response and Critical Incident Reporting policies.
Assist in disturbances, check for weapons if indicated, and escort clients out of the building according to the Crisis Response policy and procedure.
Assist and execute random dorm/room searches to align with policies and procedures according to scheduled parameters
Coordinate, conduct, and log routine fire drills for facilities.
Oversee shifts and schedules of outsourced safety guards and work together to satisfy post orders.
Assist in the process to ensure that confiscated items, valuables, and assets of the organization are secured, inventoried, and accounted for (i.e. locks, cameras, weapons, etc.)
Ensure all safety risk issues are reported to the Director of Operations and documented and logged properly. This is to include crisis response, best practice industry safety, fire prevention and suppression systems, physical and facility safety (risk management and litigation prevention, slippery floors, etc.
Assist the Director of Operations in writing security and safety policies and procedures.
Train BCM staff in various security and safety procedures

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma. Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience and training working in a related field
Training in De-escalation and Crisis Response preferred
Valid NYS Security license
Prior Military / First responder experience is highly preferred
Other Qualifications:
In the midst of a mature walk with Jesus Christ and able to articulate belief.Ability to take charge and follow directions with minimal oversight
Ability to be proactive and have strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to understand and consider the “big-picture”, for all situations.
Proven ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Strong written and verbal communication skills are highly preferred.
Ability to communicate in crisis situations, has an awareness of the surroundings, pleasant in meeting the needs, and is precise.
Ability to communicate in a public speaking/training environments to small to mid-sized groups
Good telephone, mathematical, and computer skills.

Payment:
For this vital role of safeguarding our community, we offer compensation that reflects the importance of the work you'll be doing. With an hourly wage of $24 to $26, depending on your experience, we aim to acknowledge not just the skills and expertise you bring to the table, but also the moral and ethical commitment required to protect and nurture our environment.
