Job Description
Position Overview
As a Manager, Renewable Engineering (Wind), you will lead a team ofproject engineers who perform activities spanning prospecting throughconstruction phases for utility scale wind projects throughout theUnited States. You will be responsible for managing project engineers,collaborating with team leads to strategize and plan work streams,reviewing and approving work products, and representing the team andcompany while interfacing with internal/external technical andnon-technical groups. This position will be located in our Chicagoheadquarters.
You will lead a hardworking team of project engineers that share apassion for renewable energy.
Responsibilities
Manage a junior wind project engineering team with focus on criticalissues including site characterization, basis of design, energyassessment, risk analysis and other duties as required to supportthe development, design, and construction of utility scale windenergy plants.Identify, hire, onboard and train new wind engineers to support thegrowth of the company.Track engineering status on regional portfolio of projects.Support project engineers and project teams to prepare engineeringdeliverables and proposals in response to RFPs and to securecontracts to sell energy.Review scopes of work, commercial offtake, and BOP contracts.Communicate with senior leaders and collaborate with peers withinthe company to integrate process flows.Collaborate with the Development, Origination, Pre-Construction,Project Management, Procurement, Environmental, Legal, Regulatoryand other teams to support wind project development, engineering,and construction.Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Project ElectricalEngineering, SCADA, and Operations teams leading up to and throughproject commercial operations.Represent Invenergy LLC with customers, state and local officials,industry associations and other stakeholders.Required Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field5+ years of relevant work experienceAbility to travel (no more than 25%)Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employervisa sponsorship now or in the futurePreferred Skills and Experience
7+ years of applicable experience including people managementMaster's degree or Professional Engineering LicenseExperience in wind or other energy fieldExperience managing and building multi-disciplined engineering teamsStrong verbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiency in Microsoft productsStrong engineering, organizational, networking, leadership, and timemanagement skillsBenefits
