Manager, Regulatory Compliance

Mastercard's Global Regulatory team's role includes managing and delivering upon regulatory compliance obligations for the purpose of mitigating the impact of regulation on the company's profitability and growth potential. This position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of regulatory infrastructure and the compilation of regulatory submissions in Brazil.
This position will be based in São Paulo and will report to the Regulatory Affairs Counsel, based in São Paulo and the VP Global Regulatory Operations based in Purchase (US). This position is part of the Global Regulatory team from a functional perspective and the LAC legal team from a regional perspective.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager, Regulatory Compliance will support the execution of the regulatory compliance strategy for our payment services regulations in Brazil and will:
• Prepare submissions and returns to regulators ensuring accuracy and completeness and submission in line with required deadlines;
• Support ongoing supervision including regulatory examinations and ensuring the business meets all regulatory reporting obligations;
• Monitor and track regulatory and supervisory developments and coordinate with internal partners to address new requirements;
• Oversee execution of regulatory compliance processes and controls within the business;
• Support the use of the global regulatory compliance tools and framework;
• Perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation and maintenance of ongoing administrative projects); and
• Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of and understanding of payment system regulation and experience of compliance requirements for large bank or non-bank financial institution;
• Experience of executing regulatory compliance programs, including design, implementation, and oversight of controls;
• Experience with engaging with and preparing material for regulators;
• Success in navigating a multi-national organization and operating effectively within a diverse multicultural organization;
• Detail oriented, organized, self-starter/motivated to work independently and as an effective team member;
• Must demonstrate a proactive, time sensitive, results driven approach in carrying out all duties, obligations and responsibilities; and
• Excellent Portuguese and English written and verbal communication skills. Spanish is a plus.
