Purpose
This Position manages the maintenance of a 600 MW 2X1 Combined Cycle Power Station while supporting the operational activities at the plant. Ensure that the State Line Power Station is a safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible source of power for the Southwest Power Pool, which will maximize shareholder return on their investment and minimize direct impact to Liberty's bottom line.
Accountabilities
• This position will lead maintenance efforts to ensure that the State Line Plant meets Southwest Power Pool Day Ahead and Reliability commitments by supervising day to day maintenance activities and working with the Operations Manager to ensure that operational issues are addressed accordingly.
• Responsible for working with other State Line managers to ensure 24/7/365 support for the plant.
• Acts as the primary entity responsible for setting planned outage scope and durations, short and long term. Responsible for scheduling and coordination of plant personnel, other Liberty Utilities personnel, and contractors used during these outages.
• Responsible for managing union personnel at site as their direct manager, which includes being the first line of any contract dispute / issue / objection and responsible for bringing concerns / grievances to upper management.
• Lead plantwide safety efforts. This includes ensuring that all safety procedures and processes are followed and develop short and long-term strategies for improving safety by continuously looking for concerns before they occur.
• Manage and continuously improve the maintenance program utilizing prudent engineering and operating practices that will provide continuous performance and availability at or near current levels. This will be accomplished by providing strong direction for and support of a predictive and preventative maintenance program.
• Responsible for determining the effects on plant equipment to determine and implement short-term and long-term solutions, which may include both O&M and Capital Projects within the 1 to 6-year time frame.
• Responsible for coordinating with other plant management on use of personnel, giving proper contractual notice, and determining best use of personnel to provide maximum benefit to company, plant bottom line and plant budget adherence.
• Ensures that the facility complies with all governmental regulations and reporting requirements.
• Capital, and Operations & Maintenance Budgeting; including tracking and reporting.
• This position is responsible for ensuring that safety plans are in place during outages, such as scaffolding, confine space rescue, Lock Out Tag Out, and others.
• Develops and/or implements plant/corporate policies, programs and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience
