The University o f Miami has a great opportunity for a Manager, Planning Analytics (Business Intelligence) to work at the Coral Gables Campus.
The Manager, Business Intelligence develops and implements a process to identify management's intelligence needs, gathers and analyzes related information, provides timely reports to be acted upon based on the analyses, and implements the recommendations of intelligence reporting and management.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Identifies intelligence needs of each department through one-on-one communication with key employees.
Researches and analyzes areas of interest to the University to gain a competitive advantage.
Monitors fields of interest to the company such as technology in the political and legal frameworks.
Monitors internal and external environments for development of new business processes.
Performs market research and analysis.
Participates in management meetings related to intelligence reporting.
Prioritizes, plans, and tracks project progress and provides status reports.
Attends educational, sales, and marketing events provided by industry participants.
Participates in trade shows as a representative of the University.
Maintains communications with direct contacts used for ongoing monitoring of the external environment and project-related research.
Develops and implements a virtual library of information gathered from published sources.
Develops an understanding of each department's role within the University and maintains an advanced knowledge of their needs to remain competitive in the high-tech industry.
Maintains an advanced knowledge of trends affecting the industry in all relevant areas.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
Develop weekly and monthly reports. E.g. Building Reports, Room Inventory reports, Error checking reports, annual reports for various academic and business units across the Academy.
Support leadership and the Academy with Ad-Hoc reports upon request.
Collaborate with Office of Institutional Research, Office of Classroom Management, and Office of Research Administration on special projects.
Programming & Planning and Space Analysis reports at the discretion of Department Director.
Department Specific Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor or masters degree in architecture, construction, engineering, or related field.
Experience:
5 Years minimum Space Planning or Space Management experience in Higher Education.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Power BI
Microsoft Excel
AutoCAD Release 2022 and newer
Graphic Reporting Software. E.g. Accruent AutoCAD Interface
Facilities Management Software. E.g. FM Systems, FAMIS.
Website development experience a plus
