We have an exciting opportunity open for a Manager of Engineering inLittle Rock, AR.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages a team that is responsible for providing the engineering design,permitting, right-of-way acquisition, and assisting constructionmanagement for the purpose of constructing and/or modifying natural gastransmission pipelines, distribution systems, facilities, andappurtenances for Summit Utilities Arkansas and Summit UtilitiesOklahoma in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations andcompany policies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for building and managing an engineering team in accordancewith the Companys policies and applicable laws pertaining to hiring;determining department procedures; assigning and
directing work; providing training; appraising performance; rewardingand providing positive corrective action when needed; resolving employeeissues; providing input for- and administering department budget.
Utilizes the application of extensive and diversified knowledge ofengineering practices to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinatedevelopment of the engineering work for all design, modification, and/orconstruction of natural gas transmission pipelines, distribution systemsand related appurtenances.
Responsible for preparation, evaluation and approval of engineeringdrawings, details, construction specifications, contract and biddocuments, and contractor procurement, including selection andcoordination with consulting engineers and vendors.
Meets with general public and/or developers, landowners, interestgroups, and regulatory bodies concerning zoning, expansion projects, andengineering regulations, etc.
Accountable for the successful implementation and completion ofengineering objectives in construction projects by managing projectissues, budgets and schedules requiring numerous interactions withconsulting firms, construction contractors, government officials andother departments within the Company.
Responsible for project status reports to Summit management team.Performs occasional field work to evaluate conditions, plan jobs, andassist construction management with compliance with company standards.
