Health Research, Inc. Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Manager, Information Technology Services will be responsible for the management and oversight of a sub-unit of the Shared Solutions information technology group, providing technical supervision and full comprehension of information technology systems and services, architecture/administration, middleware support, platform infrastructure support, ongoing maintenance, updates of application system architecture, systems research and implementation of new platform and infrastructure systems to support the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant. The incumbent will provide strong technical leadership and supervision to a team of System Administrators and consultants engaged in supporting the Health Commerce System infrastructure. The incumbent will collaborate in architecture and design discussion and implementation for adding emerging technologies to existing systems as requested by the Office of Health Emergency Preparedness, local health departments and health care facilities.
The incumbent in this position will be required to occasionally work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays to remedy critical issues and promote continuity and availability of critical systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a closely related field and five years of experience providing oversight for information technology systems or closely related experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and seven years of such experience; OR nine years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for two years of experience. At least three years must have included supervision of staff and program management.
Preferred Qualifications
At least five years of experience in infrastructure architecture, creating standard practices, and overall design, implementation, and administration of complex systems. At least four years of experience in the technical oversight of staff. At least five years of experience in management and administration of multiple infrastructure platforms encompassing server virtualization, relational database, Linux server. Windows server. At least three years of experience developing PowerShell and Linux shell-based scripts. At least five years of experience with Oracle database platform management, security, and performance tuning of complex database systems. At least two years of experience with the management and administration of reverse proxy, DNS, and file transfer systems.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
The incumbent in this position will be required to occasionally work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays to remedy critical issues and promote continuity and availability of critical systems.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
