Job Description
The Content Engineering Manager is tasked with creating diagnostic content for Bosch Automotive Service Solutions products in North America. This role reports to the Director of Engineering and involves core responsibilities such as overseeing the local budget, as well as leading a team of engineering associates with diverse qualifications ranging from automotive to software. Key success factors include effective stakeholder management within Bosch and strong communication with customers.
What you will do:
Directly manage a team of approximately 27 employees in Owatonna.
Implement rigorous cost management strategies to contribute to achieving a positive EBIT target for the product area diagnostics in North America.
Lead content development efforts, including creating content for domestic brands and developing ADAS content in accordance with local customer requirements.
Take over content from the EMEA team and continually strive for increased productivity.
Oversee OE data integration and develop CDR (crashed data retrieval) content for OE customers.
Prioritize tasks in collaboration with product management and work closely with the software team to develop new features, such as vehicle protection unlock (SDA).
Harmonize processes with the engineering content team in EMEA.
Drive the transformation of the group into a data-driven organization.
Qualifications
Experience & Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Mathematics required.
Prior leadership experience, showcasing the ability to lead large and diverse teams proficient in the entire spectrum from automotive to software.
Prior experience in international collaboration, particularly within global engineering teams, with a preference for exposure to teams in Germany and India.
Possess expertise in automotive diagnostics and a strong understanding of software, preferably within an automotive environment.
Proficiency in budget and cost management.
Embrace an output/productivity mindset to drive efficient outcomes.
Demonstrate target group-oriented communication skills, particularly in customer interactions.
Ability to challenge existing paradigms and the assertiveness to implement necessary changes.
