  Overview:This person supports the Plant Manager in the daily execution and control of the operations of the Distribution Center. This responsibility must include Picking, Checking, and Shipping & Receiving functions. Must support and achieve corporate and department goals and objectives. Protects the brand and ensures customer satisfaction.

  Job Description:

  Responsibilities:

  Assist in managing the growth of SKU’s, distributor growth and the introduction of new operational systems.

  Develops, plans, and executes operational controls and measurements.

  Manage the implementation of advanced distribution technology to improve performance and minimize costs.

  Provide leadership. Must manage with a professional image and portray a positive attitude to all departments and employee’s.

  Monitor and control damaged product to reduce dollars lost.

  Continually improve customer satisfaction through effective use of our operation system, policy and procedures.

  Maintain picking and shipping accuracy, to meet our customer’s expectations.

  Continuous and effective communication with the customers (internal and external customers).

  Monitor department efficiencies and customer service

  Ensure proper rotation and product integrity.

  Assist with overseeing activities directly related to the creation of orders or providing services.

  Work with other Distribution Managers to standardize, implement and execute on a consistent basis, approved processes, procedures and policies. Develop measurements to track performance and take corrective actions.

  Must gain proficiency with current operations systems.

  Must be proficient with Microsoft applications and spreadsheet solution software.

  Must be willing to travel to various facilities for training and other assigned projects

  Ensure Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), are being followed and updated as needed

  Ensure all inventory requirements are met.

  Ensure all required data and reports for each department are reviewed, completed and submitted in a timely manner.

  Continuously research ways to improve costs, quality and service.

  Participate in and contribute to management meetings.

  Periodically tour all areas of Plant Facility and Grounds.

  Work in conjunction with Human Resources on company policy and procedures compliance.

  Assist Quality Assurance Department in their day-to-day operational needs.

  Ensure the smooth start-up of shift.

  Must be knowledgeable or capable of working within a union environment.

  Participate in weekend and holiday manager duty.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree or education/knowledge equivalent to related a 4-year degree.

  Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment, with at least two (2) years experience in Warehouse/Distribution Management
