The Manager, Displays and Merchandising will report to the Sr. Manager, Shopper Marketing/Display Management to lead, develop and execute best-in-class temporary, semi-permanent and/or permanent merchandising solutions. This role manages internal and external resources in achieving display objectives for each brand while meeting timelines.
Primary responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, managing display projects from inception to execution, tracking and supporting the display development process, understanding scale and cost implications, and striving to improve the in-store experience for shoppers through best-in-class merchandising.
Responsibilities
Best in Class Merchandising
· Collaborates with Brand, Customer Planning and Sales to set the merchandising strategy for both existing products and new innovations
· Leads the management and continuous enhancement of the Newell Display Catalog
· Manages third-party display supplier to create enhanced, disruptive displays that drive top line sales, profit, and gross margin while conscientiously managing display expense
· Leads the creation and execution of retailer-specific displays for relevant channels and/or customers. Responsible for being an expert in display standards and guidelines within assigned channels and/or customers
· Works collaboratively with the Design team to execute display designs consistent with defined communication hierarchies and brand style guides
· Recommends and tracks success metrics
Management
· Lead and manage work activities of display/merchandising team to achieve annual objectives
· Manages flow of information and requests from Brand Marketing, Customer Planning, Finance, Sales, etc.
· Participates on cross-functional teams to develop new displays. Manages display forecasting to ensure alignment with Demand planning
· Liaise between production facility and suppliers to troubleshoot production concerns
Financial Management
· Supports the completion of proper P&L for effective display cost evaluation
· Works collaboratively with Operations/Sourcing to identify and develop merchandising productivity initiatives
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree
· 3-5 years of experience working with a leading CPG company (In-Store Merchandising, Package Engineering, or related position)
· Demonstrated knowledge of Merchandising best practices, tools and processes
· Excellent project management skills and experience managing timelines
· Strong executional background
· Knowledge of the retail landscape
