What You Will Do :
The Office of Communications and Congressional Affairs (TCA) is the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) lead office for media relations, public affairs, and Congressional relations, providing quick response support to the agency, the public, and Members of Congress on a daily basis. The office distributes information about FTA programs and policies to the public, the transit industry, and other interested parties through a variety of media. This office also coordinates the FTA Administrator's and Deputy Administrator’s public appearances and is responsible for managing correspondence and other information directed to and issued by the Administrator and Deputy Administrator. This position supports TCA through communication efforts across the agency and with the public.
This position is responsible for 1) developing and implementing technical solutions across TCA’s SharePoint sites and addressing knowledge gaps across TCA through communicating expectations, developing resources, and conducting trainings and other technical assistance; 2) reviewing and sharing feedback with TCA clients on FTA public webpages and developing recommendations for improving quality and refreshing website content; 3) drafting and sharing feedback on FTA’s social media content and developing social media strategies for improved communication and engagement; and 4) managing and coordinating responses to inquiries received through the FTA Contact Us tool and conducting trainings and other technical assistance with the FTA Contact Us program office points of contact.
What You Will Need :
This position requires strong technical writing and editing skills needed to improve clarity, style, grammar, etc., of public-facing communications; technical expertise in SharePoint and other knowledge management platforms; and experience leading change management initiatives.
Candidate must be able to adapt to changes in a fast moving organization with minimal to zero rework required on client deliverables
Requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum 1 year of prior relevant consulting experience.
Candidate must have proven experience in using advanced features across the suite of Microsoft products with a focus on SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.
