  Summary This position is located with FMWR Sports on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Responsibilities Performs a variety of trades and laboring duties involving maintenance, repair and improvement of facilities and equipment. Duties require trade practices associated with painting, carpentry and laboring work. Makes repairs and alterations to hockey rink boards, seats, bleachers, basketball surfaces in accordance with specifications set by NCAA and the supervisor. Maintains equipment, including a Zamboni Ice Resurfacer, Ice Edger, Tenant Rider Sweeper/scrubber, Gator Field Vehicle and Golf Carts. Sets up, breaks down and maintains goals, nets, bleachers, weight room equipment and audio/visual equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience in performing duties as described and the ability to follow oral and written instructions involving those duties. Incumbent is expected to have a basic knowledge of the standard techniques in the maintenance of buildings and equipment, and have the ability to read and compute simple arithmetic. Be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devised of the painting/carpentry trades. Must have ability to learn new techniques and procedures associated with the preceding. Education Additional Information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is defined as local commuting area. (Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities within 150 miles of the installation). PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid. Up to 25% recruitment and retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
