Job Description Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled work within Logan Health Cut Bank as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or other leadership as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current State Boiler’s License preferred or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a mechanical, electrical, or skilled trade required. Minimum two (2) years’ experience preferred. Combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Valid Montana Driver License.
Proven ability in skilled trade with aptitude in mechanical or electrical field.
Demonstrated ability to operate and/or repair machinery and tools associated with position.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and/or repair machinery and tools associated with position.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions with regards to position.
Ability to understand and interpret blue prints and mechanical drawings related to the construction and maintenance of the facility.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with local utility companies, service providers, physicians, administration, staff members, and the public at large. Ability to work effectively alone or in a team environment, understanding project timelines, and time management.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Provides necessary repair and maintenance support for all departments, facility-wide. Understands and maintains current working knowledge of all boiler operations, equipment, burners, pumps, and related mechanical components of the system and provides proper maintenance and repairs.
Understands and maintains a current working knowledge of all stand-by generators, steam systems, and the use of gasses and liquid gasses in the facility. Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the buildings' physical condition does not deteriorate.
Provides timely and routine care for the facility grounds, parking lot, sidewalks, entry-ways, etc., ensuring the safety of all who enter, use, or exit the facility. Assembles, installs and/or repairs wiring, electrical and/or electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Repairs defective equipment parts using hand tools and/or power tools, reassembles equipment as needed or directed.
Records and keeps accurate repair records as well as coordinates "Lock-out/Tag-out" procedures.
Operates, maneuvers, navigates and/ or drives vehicles or mechanized equipment such as passenger vehicles and lawn equipment as necessary for the position's duties. Ground maintenance to include, but not limited to mowing, weeding, planting, shoveling, de-icing, and trash removal.
Assists with routine fire-drills as directed. Performs other related duties not to exceed licensure or scope of practice related to the position.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
