Responsibilities
Work in a professional manner and keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality product being released to the customer.
Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.
Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager.
Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.
Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.
Emphasis on Preventative Maintenance within the plant.
Assist with work orders as required by Maintenance Manager.
Assist with any machine maintenance tasks when requested or needed.
e.g., injection/mold rebuilds, automation issues, etc.
Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.
Assist in training as needed.
Accurately log all work performed.
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
Be thoroughly familiar with plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs; apply these procedures when working on equipment.
Follow all Safety, Food Safety and GMP policies.
Maintain a neat and orderly appearance of shop and molding machines.
Other maintenance-related duties/tasks may be assigned.
Qualifications
1-year certification from college or technical school, or minimum 3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
Capable of performing job duties with little or no supervision.
Must work well with others in a team environment or individually.
Ability to work at heights. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
Ability to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 10 times per day.
Ability to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.
Ability to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis.
Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system.
Vision correctable to 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
Must be able to work around grease, oils and solvents without adverse reaction.
Ability to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8 hour shift.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime as required.
