SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician II, under the direction of theAssistant General Manageris responsible for coordinating and performingrepairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment aswell as the maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems ofmanufacturing plant(s).
COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety - Assist with routine audits to ensure safety features of equipment arefunctioning properly. Respond and provide solutions to Production Departmentneeds whenever unsafe conditions related to the machinery and equipment arereported.
High Performance - Effectively perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs tominimize machine down-time as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
Integrity& Honesty - Demonstrate and enforce full compliance to rules,regulations and standards with a committed passion to improve the standards.
Focus - Identify improvements that link to the strategic direction andobjectives of the Company to reinforce the associate's understanding of howtheir work impacts these goals and measures.
Teamwork - Work in teams to solve problems, identify waste and meetorganizational goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to runsmoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical conditionof buildings do not deteriorate.
Understand energy control and measures taken to put machinery in a safecondition to be worked on using techniques described in the Lock-Out-Tag-Outwritten procedures and training.
Document daily work performed and materials used for each Work Order.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers,hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instrumentsand electrical and electronic testing devices.
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machinemalfunctions.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checkingblueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electroniccomponents, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
Assemble and maintain physical structures, using hand or power tools.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replacefilters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advisesupervisors of repair needs.
Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipmentrequiring repair or maintenance.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and powertools, and reassemble equipment.
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and todetect problems.
Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machineparts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments,tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools,and cleaning equipment.
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according toproduction specifications.
