WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHERThe Equipment Operator/Maintenance Mechanic maintains facilities, toolsand equipment, mechanical systems and vehicles and preserve areas frequentedby the visiting public. They undertake restoration projects on preserves andmaintain equipment.
The Equipment Operator/Maintenance Mechanic operates heavy machinery,leads work teams, remove exotic species and/or conducts species monitoringand manages livestock, if necessary. They will serve on the fire crew andassist with inventory and purchasing of machinery.
May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficultand hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING* High school diploma and 4 years' direct experience in applied mechanicalmaintenance.
Experience operating and/or repairing various types of equipment andmachinery. (e.g.; lawn mower, chainsaw, tractor, backhoe,bulldozer, dump truck, two-way radio, etc.).
Experience working with electrical, plumbing, welding, and concrete.
Experience coordinating teams to complete construction and repair projects.
Must have a valid driver's license. Please indicate this in your resume.
Must be able to obtain related licenses or certifications required toparticipate in prescribed burns or CPR, first aid, etc.
Must be qualified as a Fire Fighter Type 2 (FFT2) or willingness toachieve in a short timeframe, including Introduction to ICS (I-100),Human Factors on the Fire line (L-180), Introduction to Wild land FireBehavior (S-190), Firefighting Training (S-130), and one trainingburn serving under the supervision of a qualified FFT2. Experience working with or knowledge of natural systems.
