The Doe Run Company is seeking a Mechanic Maintenance to maintain The Doe Run Company's equipment in order to ensure process safety and minimize division downtime. This nightshift position is located at our Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO. Insurance benefits start day 1. Eligible for 80 hours vacation and 11 holidays.
Title/Pay will be based upon work experience and testing results.
Primary Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot equipment problems.Provide scheduled maintenance and repairs.Work with Level I, II and III Maintenance personnel in order to provide effective, timely and efficient repair and maintenance service.Shipments, storage area management, relocate waste containers from Satellite Accumulation Areas to Hazardous Waste Storage Areas, Weekly Hazardous Waste inspections - forklift training required (Nipper task only)Assist in the installation of new equipment and the modification of existing equipment.Assist in plant upgrades in order to improve production.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent mechanical skills.
Basic knowledge of divisional operations (i.e., mining, milling and smelting).
Ability to operator mobile equipment, including cranes, forklifts, etc.
Working knowledge of metal fabrication or ball mill operations, hydraulics/pneumatics, refractory work, bearings/seals, welding, pipe fitting, pump repair, mechanical repairs, and construction maintenance.
Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, ERP and Financial Systems
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
Demonstrated skill in using small hand tools, advanced measuring, and basic mathematical calculations.
Education and Experience:
Successful completion of an industrial maintenance course or auto technology course or one year of auto repair experience or industrial maintenance experience.High school diploma or equivalent.Valid, current driver's license.Must complete Doe Run Company maintenance training program or equivalent and pass an Aptitude Test (if no previous maintenance experience).Mobile equipment certification (provided upon hire)5S/Lean manufacturing certification preferred.Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training (OSHA training).(provided upon hire).Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection and eyewear.Exposed to outdoor weather conditions.Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.Exposed to wet, humid conditions, vibration and extreme heat.Occasionally works in confined spaces and/or at heights of four feet or more, with fall protection.Exposed to loud noise levels.Regularly requires hearing and reaching with hands/arms.Frequently requires talking, felling attributes of objects, grasping, and pushing, standing, walking and repetitive movement.Occasionally requires sitting, driving, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing or balancing.Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relations, precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors.Regularly required to lift up to 15 pounds: frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.Based in St. Louis, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest integrated lead producers in the Western Hemisphere.
