Reference #: ST06262023-2Cleveland-Cliffs Steelton Highspire Railroad has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Maintenance for our railroad. As a Shift Manager at Cleveland-Cliffs Steelton, you will be part of a team making steel that goes into products that are visible all around you. The successful candidate will provide leadership in ensuring that work is performed safely to efficiently produce and deliver quality steel products to our customers.
Summary of Responsibilities:Supervise hourly mechanical and contractor employees regarding prioritizing daily assignments, job completion, performance.Order parts, materials and services using Tabware Systems.Identify and remedy safety issues.Manage maintenance of railroad track infrastructure throughout the facility along with bridges, freight cars and locomotives.Understand and manage railroad maintenance in accordance with all Federal Regulations contained in 49 CFR.Develop innovations to improve performance and reliability.Handle investigation of injuries with root-cause analysis and create incident reports and make proper notifications for all derailments, collisions, injuries, near misses, equipment damage or environmental incidents per FRA and Cleveland Cliffs reporting standards.Perform duties utilizing Microsoft Windows Operating System.Assist in re-railing of freight equipment.Other responsibilities as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent2 years of supervisory experience, experience performing in a union environmentProficient use of hand tools and familiarity with proper lifting techniques1-2 years' experience as a locomotive mechanic, engineer or railcar repairman. Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and web-based scheduling programsExperience as a DSLE (Designated Supervisor of Locomotive Engineers)Possession of current Locomotive Engineer's License3 years supervisory experience performing within a common carrier railroad environmentApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
