POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for maintenance of all electrical equipment.

This role does not manage people
This role reports to this job: MANAGER, FACILITIES
Necessary Contacts: In order to effectively fulfill this position the incumbent must be in contact with:
All levels of BCBSLA personnel.
Any vendor for equipment/maintenance services and outside contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredWork Experience
8 years of electrical experience to include 5 years experience in a commercial industrial field. required
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
The ability to follow electrical code and blueprints using hand tools and voltage tester.
Knowledge of fire panels, codes and security panels required
Knowledge of 120, 220, 480 and 277 voltages required
Must often work on special projects that are scheduled after normal business hours and on weekends
Licenses and Certifications
Electrician’s license issued by the State of Louisiana preferredACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates activities of Electrician Assistants engaged in construction, maintenance and repair of electric power to ensure prioritization of work orders, and avoid duplicate job tickets.
Creates and implements maintenance schedule on all electrical equipment to help prevent electrical failure and shortages due to poor maintenance.
Plans, installs, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect equipment and fixtures, according to blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches to ensure the continuous daily electrical operations within company specifications and local electrical codes.
Fulfill “ad hoc” project duties as assigned to address any “emergency” tasks that could interfere with successful daily electrical operations.
Plans, installs, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect data and network wiring, to ensure the continuous daily operations.
