JOB REQUIREMENTS: Shift: 2nd or 3rd SUMMARY: Installs, maintains andrepairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe andelectrical systems in the manufacturing and office facilities byperforming the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Accountable for creating a quality product. Participates in training toproduce a quality product and uses preventative measures to ensure thecustomer requirements and Tenneco standards are met. Comply with legaland other requirements to avoid injury and/or ill health to themselvesand others. Understands preventative measures and creates a safeenvironment by having the ability to identify potential emergencysituations and reports all incidents to supervisor/ manager. Adheres tothe facility\'s quality, environmental, health and safety policies thatare identified by the management systems. High proficiency on allmechanical repairs required in the plant. Visually inspects and testsmachinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines orequipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variationswith supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem orrepair machine. Troubleshoot machines or equipment to detectmalfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with teammembers and supervisor. Basic electrical trouble shooting on plant andfacility equipment. Understanding of all operations throughout themanufacturing process. Dismantles defective machines and equipment andinstalls new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings,gears, and other parts of machinery. Lays out, assembles, installs andmaintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment,and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, andrelated equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure ofestablishment. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe,grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machineparts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Operates cutting torch or weldingequipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs counters,benches, partitions and other wooden structures. Read specialinstructions as required. Records information for inspection andproduction using various form, logs and computer systems. Ensuresappropriate and timely communication between departments. Monitorsequipment for specification using but not limited to the following typesof gages, scales, check off sheets and visual aids. Verifies equipmentincluding but not limited to proper settings, and speeds, cycle times,and other controls are in conformance to specification by usingestablished standards.
