　　DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Job Description:This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

Here, you will make an impact by:* Read, understand and follow work orders, blueprints & engineering drawings.* Perform all department operations consistently at standard productivity and quality levels.* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, good personal safety record, report unsafe acts, conditions or equipment, keep current with safety policies.* Actively wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the department including safety glasses and safety shoes.* Select tools & select/create work holding for optimum productivity.* Set-up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders as needed to machine parts to print specification.* Measure and verify setups and parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample work pieces utilizing: comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment needed.* Report time and material in manufacturing systems.

　　Your Skills and Expertise 

　　To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:* High School Diploma/GED or higher.* Minimum one (1) year of machinist experience in private, public, government or military environment and/or Technical School.* Requires taking and scoring Medium or High in the Global Advanced Manufacturing Battery Test (GAMB).

　　Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:* Strong conceptual skills.* Three (3) years of related experience.* Functional and technical skills.* Understanding controls and instrumentation.* Attention to detail and have sound judgment.

　　Applicable to US Applicants Only:The starting rate of pay for this position is $26.76, with the potential to reach $27.84 . This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
